It’s been about two months since our move to Florida. It’s the summer and man is it HOT! The sun shines every day and now I know why it’s called the sunshine state! I learned quickly that you need to carry an umbrella with you at all times because one minute it’s sunny and the next you’re in a monsoon. As the family gets adjusted to the new home it still doesn’t feel the same without Kobi, especially since I work from home.
When we lost Kobi the family decided that we would wait to get another dog until we were settled, that was until the vision I had. Not sure why but I suddenly kept having the vision of two dogs both German Shepherds, one was Maya and the other Parker in my dream home. So I finally broke down and told the family we are getting another dog. At first, they thought I was crazy, but then the thought of a new puppy set in. The kids were all excited and wanted to know where this puppy was coming from. Fortunately, I had a very good friend of mine John who had just had a litter of German Shepherd puppies. This time around my husband agreed to get another puppy only if we got a female as we always had males.
As I mentioned in my last blog that it was as if the universe was speaking to me I am certain that it is. As fate would have it there was only one female German Shepherd in the whole litter and guess what she was mine! On top of it, all the name Maya means the power by which the universe becomes manifest, imagine that! At first, the family did not like the name Maya. They spent days trying to change her name and finally after all was said and done Maya was it!
As we eagerly awaited the arrival of Maya we made sure we had all the essentials a crate, bed, toys, chew toys, collar, leash, treats and of course food! The day finally arrived and she was the cutest thing ever. She was all black except for her paws where tan and she had big beautiful black eyes that just made your heart melt. She was a little scared but we gave her so much love to make her feel welcomed. She is now 17 weeks old and although at times I call her Kobi (that’s telling me he is happy for us) I am happy again.
Stay tuned as Parker is yet to come…..
