THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

Hey, world I would like to take the time to say THANK YOU, because if your reading this right now it means that for some reason or another you found KOBI GEAR™ “The Brand for a Cause”. If you have looked around the store then you probably visited ourabout us page or maybe not. Well, I am going to give you a little bit of background on how KOBI GEAR™ was started and why.

It all starts with our late German Shepherd Kobi and my mom Cecile. Six years ago my mom was diagnosed with Cutaneous T-Cell Lymphoma and with the help of many different treatment plans we believe that they finally found one that works. However, she continues her fight and is not out of the woods yet as this is something she will deal with for the rest of her life. Kobi, on the other hand, was slightly different. Back in April of this year, he was diagnosed with canine lymphoma and unfortunately when we found out it was too late. We were devastated as he had no signs or symptoms that something was wrong. My mom had a very special bond with Kobi, as he didn’t like many people but he loved my mom and she loved him. Who would’ve thought that he would have passed from the very same thing my mom is fighting.

Losing Kobi was hard. I lost my best friend and on top, it all this all happened while we were getting ready to move from Connecticut to Florida and guess what Kobi wouldn’t be there. When we got to Florida it just wasn’t the same without Kobi. After the loss of Kobi something stirred inside me and I had to do something but what. Then one day it was as if the universe was speaking to me and up in the sky was a cloud shape like a dog! I said “KOBI” that’s it! I am going to create a brand in honor of KOBI. Over the next few weeks, I came up withKOBI GEAR™and somehow I would raise money for foundations that had to do with helping cancer. That’s when “The Brand for a Cause” came into play.

After much research on the different foundations out there I was moved by theNational Canine Cancer Foundation. When I read about the founder Gary D. Nice losing his dog Bailey due to an advanced case of cancer my heart broke as it reminded me of my Kobi. I continued to read about their mission and how they have helped so many pets with canine cancer. I then reached out to them and heard back from Sara Nice who is on the board of directors. She was moved by my story, my mission, and the cause. I chose theLymphoma Research Foundation on behalf of my mom. Our mission is to make KOBI GEAR™ “The Brand for a Cause” by donating a $1 from each item to each of these foundations with a goal of reaching $1,000,000.

KOBI GEAR™ “The Brand for the Cause” would not be possible without the help from a couple people. I want to say a huge THANK YOU to the graphic design companyThis Creative and their graphic designer Winston who is the person behind designing the KOBI GEAR™ brand logo with my dog Kobi! Next, I would like to say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to the man who made my store possibleAbel Valdivia. If it wasn’t for him I truly wouldn’t be up and running now. If you ever need someone to design your store he is the person to go to. Next, I want to give a BIG HUG AND KISS to my family for supporting me with my mission. Lastly, I want to THANK all of you because with your help KOBI GEAR™ “The Brand for a Cause” will be helping the foundations above continue their research to find a cure for this tiring disease.
